Ghana launches technology city project | SmartPlanet
Another African country is building a city from scratch focused on information and communication technology.
Ghana broke ground this week on its $10 billion Hope City project on an empty parcel of land outside the capital city of Accra.
There’s gonna be more future cities of Africa. “Artificial” cities came with the growth of Brazil, China, Korea and Arabian Peninsula.

Based on middle eastern influences, this concept shows the city of Shura, that has been built to fend off drones. Its tricks include:
- Projected QR codes intended to confuse or hack watching drone eyes
- Blinking colors and resulting shadows to make face detection difficult
- Minarets to provide IR and wireless jamming
